This closed wound drainage system with bag combines a silicone wound drain, a suction reservoir and a collection bag in one set. The reservoir applies gentle negative pressure to draw drainage from the wound, and the fluid collects in the bag, allowing higher volumes to be collected before the system needs to be emptied. The bag also allows drainage volume to be read and recorded without opening the system. It is available with a standard reservoir or with a silicone reservoir that has a bottom outlet for connection to the bag.
Key Features:
Complete set with silicone drain, suction reservoir and collection bag
Higher collection capacity reduces the frequency of emptying
Bag allows drainage volume to be read and recorded without opening the system
Available with a standard reservoir or a reservoir with a bottom outlet
Closed system design helps reduce exposure of the wound to outside contamination
Sterile, single use, individually packed
Applications:
Post-operative wound drainage with higher expected output
Orthopaedic, general and plastic surgery
Ward and home settings where frequent emptying is impractical
Where accurate measurement of drainage volume is required
Important Notes:
Single use only. Do not reuse or resterilize.
Do not use if the package is damaged or opened.
A suction reservoir is required to operate this system. Check the pack contents before use.
Position the collection bag below the level of the wound at all times to prevent backflow.
Do not allow the bag to rest on the floor.
Empty the bag when it is approximately two thirds full, or according to your facility's protocol.
Do not open the system unnecessarily; read the volume from the graduations where possible.
Check that all connections are secure before applying suction.
Record drainage volume and character according to your facility's protocol.
