This closed wound drainage system is used for post-operative drainage of surgical wounds. A silicone drain is placed in the wound and connected to a suction reservoir, and drainage is collected without the wound being open to the environment, helping to reduce the risk of outside contamination. The drain is available with either a spring mechanism or a stainless steel trocar for insertion, depending on surgical preference.
